Professional Posing

I recently reached out to the girls in my Facebook VIP Boudoir group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/165160234417857/?ref=group_header) about the types of topics they would like to see here on the blog. because I truly believe being a good professional, in any career, is listening to the people you serve, in how you can better provide guidance to them & keep them engaged with your business and the services you provide. it makes you, as a professional, even more valuable to your clientele!

One of my most asked question (behind, "what am I supposed to wear?") is, how am I supposed to know how to pose?

THAT'S NOT YOUR JOB, BABE! it's mine!! Me, the professional! I show you how to do each pose, and them coach you through as you do it!

often, these babes lack some self confidence. and are in need of being reminded that no matter their physical outer appearance may seem flawed to them, to my lens and my eye behind the camera, they are ALL TRULY STUNNING! and from experience, most of the women, NOT all, but most, who walk into their session with me have an insecurity with their body, that they would like to draw less attention to, or conceal altogether. and though, your clothing style choices can play a big role in that, POSING and well placed angles is where the real magic happens!

and an experienced boudoir photographer has a vault of poses to use for all the types of bodies we see in front of our lens! and when one doesn't quite look how we envisioned, a new and different angle usually perfects what we had in mind! I always tell my ladies to start with what they feel the most comfortable in for their first outfit; and they almost always choose something a little less revealing and that covers them more. and I almost always start everyone out in the same pose, it's one that is flattering for ALL body types. and we proceed with some basic prompts and positioning; and slowly, but surely, working out the nervousness and jitters!

I explain this type of nervousness to my clients as like you're going into a job interview. even for me! because, believe it or not, even I get nervous for these! but after the initial 5 minutes, it's like bantering with an old friend! and once you witness me running all over the room and climbing on desks, chairs, stools and dressers, I know you won't be able to help but giggle!

and as the session goes on, their inner goddess makes her debut, and the posing and outfits (and laughs!) get more and more fun! we listen to music, drink wine (or whatever beverage you wish!) and truly converse like we've been friends for years! these cherished connections I have the honor of making with all these beautiful women, is one I do not take lightly! and in one hour, I get to LITERALLY watch my clients completely morph before my eyes! from being nervous and somewhat reserved, to being more and more open, sassy and downright SEXY! every single woman that has walked out of a session with me, walks out with their head held so high! a new found confidence and a brand new attitude about what they see in the mirror!!

and there really couldn't be anything more rewarding than giving that to a woman who needs to be reminded that she's strong, fierce, and empowering!🔥
