the thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session I get asked all kinds of questions so I wanted to complete a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for your boudoir session with me.
Do you share my images?
my number one priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially with intimate boudoir. It can be a life-changing experience, but that also makes it nerve-racking and incredibly vulnerable.
Sometimes you are still learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world or sometimes these photos are specifically for you or your spouse and aren’t for anyone else’s eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos and it all depends on your personal preference. If there are photos from your session that I would like to share I will ask your permission first and only share what you are comfortable with.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
The simple answer is no. You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie. It all depends on your personality and the session vibe youre looking for. There are a bunch of outfit ideas other than lacy, strappy little numbers. Head over to my blog titled What The Heck Do I Wear to come up with some ideas outside of the realm of lingerie.
Do you offer payment plans?
We offer a few different payment and credit options. There is a booking retainer to book your shoot when you pick your session day and the final balance is due two weeks before the date of the shoot.
If you want more time to be able to pay off the shoot, you can schedule it a few months out and pay it off on a customizable payment plan. 90% of my clients choose this stress free option! MUCH more budget friendly.
Let me know if this is something that you want to set up!
Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and make up is included in all of my boudoir shoots. I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered and having your hair and make up done is a great way to do that. I will help you complete your look whether it’s “I just woke up like this” or a full glam option! Bring your ideas and we’ll use it for inspiration.
Do you Photoshop my images? I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance to my branded dark and moody style, I do not however, edit anything out that is permanent.
I think it could be damaging to have a boudoir session done and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are.
The BIGGEST part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your body from the perspective of love and acceptance also means not Photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like.
if there are parts of yourself that you are still learning how to love and aren’t thrilled about that is OK. I am experienced and skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best by concealing things you’re not comfortable with and accentuating the things you love! MORE on why I DON'T photoshop or change my clients appearance in my blog post: Will You Photoshop ME?
Where should I buy outfits?
First and foremost, you don’t need to bring a single thing with you if you don’t wish to or are someone who doesn’t really wear lingerie. I have a full service client wardrobe with ALL of the style and color options you could imagine in sizes ranging from XS-5X!
There are a few places by outfits from and it depends on what you’re getting in the style of your shoot. Here’s a long list to choose from with different styles and sizing: Victoria’s Secret, forever 21, adoreme.com, Torrid, aerie, and Honey Birdette.
if you’re looking for something specific that you can’t find, let me know and I might know where to find it !
What type of print products do you have?
We offer a variety of luxury album options and sizes and folio boxes with beautiful styrene mounted physical prints, metal wall art, and acrylic crystal block options that can be purcahsed from an a la carte menu, or I have specially curated package options of my best selling products packaged together.
I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical product. It’s so surreal to see yourself like that! Knowing who’s in those prints IS REALLY YOU!
“I flip through the glorious and glossy pages from my boudoir shoot every chance I get! I think I look at them more than my spouse. it’s a daily reminder that myself image has completely changed after having my boudoir shoot.” -Hannah P.
Do you offer digitals?
All of my boudoir packages offer some sort of physical product, and digitals are included in the top 3 out of the 4 packages I offer.
Digital only packages are also available! These digital images are delivered in a password protected, private online gallery where you may download directly and share as you wish!
I’m freaking out how can I calm my nerves? nerves are all a part of the experience. I always say that it would probably be weird if you weren’t at least a little bit nervous. the nervousness in the beginning of your shoot, makes your moment of “wow!” seeing your photos for the first time that much better. Just remember to take some big breaths, and remember you hired ME as your professional! I'm here to safeguard your images and coach you through the nerves.
How many outfits should I bring? for a full day experience, 3 outfits is ideal. For a mini session, one outfit is allowed during the shoot. You may bring more to choose from if you’re having trouble deciding - and I can help narrow down the choices!
Should I get to my shoot early? session day starts at 8:30, and I like you all to be at the studio no earlier than 8:20. I like to have ample time to set the studio up and declutter as necessary before you arrive so I’m ready for you when you get here!
Where is your studio located? CMP Studio is located at the corner of 10th St and Nebraska Avenue at 908 Nebraska Ave in Norfolk, Nebraska on the second floor!
